Glassdoor has announced its sixth annual Employees’ Choice Awards, honoring the 50 Best Places to Work, and new for 2014, the 50 Best Medium-Sized Companies to Work For. Winners were determined by the people who know these companies best—their employees.
2014 Montana Governor’s Award Recipient: Unemployment Insurance Project Team
The STAARS Project Team, (Status, Tax Accounting, Audit, and Rating System) successfully implemented a new UI Tax system (on-time and within budget) on February 24th, 2014, after only 12 months of development and configuration. This system includes on-line employer services, imaging and workflow. Thanks to hard work, dedication, and long hours by this team, to date the system has successfully processed more than 45,000 quarterly reports, $56.4 million in payments, and over 1500 new employer registrations.
Montana Department of Labor Launches New UI System Replacement
The Montana Department of Labor and Industry successfully launched the new Unemployment Insurance (UI) tax computer system and UI eServices for Employers in March 2014, on time and within budget. It replaced the older mainframe UI tax system as well as the former internet services for registering, reporting and paying.
DC News: Fast Enterprises Awarded Contract for DC’s Tax Tech
The D.C. Council will get the final say on a $37.4 million contract that the Office of the Chief Financial Officer wants to award to improve how it handles taxes. The recipient for the fiveyear contract would be Greenwood, Colo. based Fast Enterprises, which the city would turn to in hopes of making its tax technology more efficient and secure.

Utah State Government Team Receives Innovation and Efficiency Award for New Vehicle Titling and Registration System Powered by Fast Enterprises Software
Government software and consulting services provider Fast Enterprises, LLC (FAST) has announced that the state project team for Utah’s new vehicle titling and registration system has received the 2014 Governor’s Award for Excellence for Innovation and Efficiency. The system, based on FAST’s commercial off-the-shelf FastVS® software, was implemented by a joint government and private-sector team comprised of the Utah State Tax Commission, the Utah Department of Technology Services, and FAST.
